Professor Dr. Shelly Soo

Professor Dr. Shelly Soo has worked as a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist in the UK for well over 15 years. She was the Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology Department and Upper Gastrointestinal Cancers at South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust, UK.
Prof. Dr. Soo was elected College Tutor for the Royal College of Physicians, UK, in 2004.
Prof. Dr. Soo went to New Zealand between 2009-2012, working as Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at the Wellington Hospital, a tertiary hospital in Wellington. She later became the Clinical Lead for the department. In 2010, she joined the University of Otago as Senior Clinical Lecturer. In 2011, she was appointed Medical Advisor for the New Zealand Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Registry for the Wellington Region.
Prof. Dr. Soo returned to Malaysia to join Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) as Clinical Professor in October 2012. She was later appointed the Head of Department of Medicine, Chief Editor of UTAR 2012 annual report and Chairperson for Research Centre on non-communicable diseases at UTAR.
